25.08.19...Three day engagement with education stakeholders at Port Loko town.

Senior and middle level officials of the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education, headed by the Hon Minister Alpha Osman Timbo and Deputy Minister Madam Emily Kadiatu Gogra, had a three day engagement with education stakeholders such as Paramount Chiefs, Councillors, Mayor, District Council staff, Ministry of Education staff and some of its affiliate bodies, as well as NGO Reps; teachers and Heads of schools in Port Loko town on the 23rd, 24th and 25th August respectively.


19.07.19....High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) 2019.

The seventh UN High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF 2019) took place in New York from Tuesday, 9 July, to Thursday, 18 July 2019; including the three-day ministerial meeting of the forum from Tuesday, 16 July, to Thursday, 18 July 2019. The theme of HLPF2019 is 'Empowering people and ensuring inclusiveness and equality'. It will conduct an in-depth review of SDG 4 (quality education), SDG 8 (decent work and economic growth), SDG 10 (reduced inequalities), SDG 13 (climate action) and SDG 16 (peace, justice and strong institutions), in addition to SDG 17 (partnerships for the Goals) which is reviewed each year.


20/06/2019 THE MINISTRY PARTNERS WITH UNICEF TO ANALYZE MICS-EAGLE EDUCATION DATA

The general overview of this workshop is that UNICEF's MICS-Education Analysis for Global Learning and Equity or MICS-EAGLE in collaboration with the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education wants stakeholders of the Free Quality School Education to discuss and further analyze the MICS-EAGLE key findings, priority issues, critical barriers and sectoral actions that are based on the MIC6 education data.
